Delay Likely for Hearing on College’s Subdivision
A hearing on a plan by Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College to rebuild its San Dimas campus and construct an adjoining 114-home subdivision is likely to be postponed to give the college more time to respond to neighbors’ concerns about noise, removal of historic oak trees and potential damage to wild animal habitats, officials said.
The Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission had been scheduled to hear the case Wednesday, but is expected to agree to a request by the college for an indefinite delay.
Regional planner Bob Fiore said the college and Century American Corp., which would build the housing tract, requested more time because of questions raised about the project at a hearing last month. A new hearing date has not been set.
