Sewage Spill Causes Quarantine of Shore

Share

County Health Department workers posted quarantine signs along a stretch of bay shoreline in the 5100 block of North Harbor Drive Saturday morning because of a sewage spill.

The quarantine occurred after a grease blockage in the 1500 block of Rosecrans Boulevard caused about 1,200 gallons of raw sewage to spill into the bay.

Christina Graulau, county health department spokeswoman, said that the spill was stopped about 11 a.m. Saturday, but the shoreline quarantine will remain in effect for at least 24 hours.
