Two Inglewood high school students were shot to death and three others were wounded late Sunday night by at least two gunmen who fired between 15 and 20 rounds at a group of seven teen-agers, police said.

The teen-agers were gathered in the 10200 block of Crenshaw Boulevard at about 10 p.m. when the gunmen began firing from across the street, police said. Investigators provided no motive and said they did not know if the shooting was gang-related.

Eric Malone, 16, who suffered bullet wounds to the head and body, and Edgar Cole, 16, who was shot in the back, died Sunday night. Another teen-ager was in critical condition at a hospital with a bullet wound to the abdomen. A fourth was in stable condition with a bullet wound to the back, while a fifth was treated at the scene for a hand injury.
