Gas Price Rise Smallest in 4 Weeks: The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded gas went up a tenth of a cent in the last week, the smallest increase in four weeks, the American Automobile Assn. reported. A gallon of regular unleaded went for an average of $1.38, up from $1.379 last week. AAA’s record price is $1.388, logged the weekend before Easter, 1981. Since Aug. 1, the day before Iraq invaded Kuwait, the average price of gas nationwide has gone up 30.5 cents per gallon.
