Tony Casillas, a nose tackle for the Atlanta Falcons, was suspended without pay for two games for missing Sunday’s game against the Rams. Coach Jerry Glanville also said Casillas will not be paid for the Rams’ game.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pound Casillas missed Sunday’s game after failing to catch the team flight. He also did not show up Monday for the club meetings, but arrived at the Falcons’ complex later in the day and spoke with Glanville.

Glanville met with Casillas Tuesday morning at the Falcons’ training complex, but said he would not discuss the matter further. Casillas’ agent, John Maloney, said the player missed the flight Saturday after becoming ill on his way to the airport.

Leroy Hoard, running back for the Cleveland Browns, was fined $250 plus $40 in court costs after pleading guilty to driving 110 m.p.h. along Interstate 71 in suburban Cleveland.

Berea Municipal Judge James F. Hennessy accepted Hoard’s plea Monday and suspended a 30-day jail term. He placed Hoard, 22, on unsupervised probation.

Hoard finished his court appearance in time to play in Monday night’s game won by Cincinnati, 34-13. Hoard carried nine times for 30 yards.
