Luevanos Leads Brea-Olinda Past Magnolia, 21-14

Jason Luevanos of Brea-Olinda High School threw for 196 yards to lead the Wildcats to a 21-14 victory over Magnolia in an Orange League football game Friday night at Glover Stadium.

Brea held Magnolia to 57 yards total offense.

Luevanos completed 13 of 18 passing attempts including a seven-yard scoring pass to Jamie Baraglia to give Brea a 6-0 lead early in the second quarter. Brea (5-2-1, 2-0) scored again when Luevanos scored on a six-yard run with 1:55 left in the half. Baraglia ran for the two-point conversion and the Wildcats led, 14-0, at the half.

Magnolia cut the lead to 14-7 on a three-yard run by Ariel Courvetier with 8:52 left in the third quarter.

Brea came back to take a 21-7 lead when Lew Morales scored on a three-yard run with 10:48 left in the game.
