BETTING WITH JANICE : BREEDERS’ CUP SHOWDOWN

This is the biggest day of the year for thoroughbred handicappers, and a fitting time for SURELOCK the computer and I to show our knowledge of the entire spectrum of racing, from a spring on dirt to 1 1/2 miles on turf.

Each of us has been given a hypothetical $500 to wager on the seven Breeders’ Cup races, which will be run at Belmont Park with wagering at Santa Anita.

My biggest wagers involve the races for two-year-olds; the turf-oriented SURELOCK makes his big play in the Mile. Each of our longshot selections are in the Classic. I’m picking Go And Go and SURELOCK cam up with Ibn Bey.

SPRINT
