Linebacker Bruce Klostermann and running back Doug Lloyd, who were cut during training camp, were re-signed by the Raiders. They are expected to concentrate on special teams.

Klostermann played three seasons with the Denver Broncos before signing with the Raiders as a Plan B free agent in March.

Lloyd, selected in the sixth round of the 1989 draft from North Dakota State, spent the 1989 season on the Raiders’ developmental squad.

Meanwhile, the Raiders released tight end Ken Whisenhunt, who was signed last week, and put defensive tackle Tim Rother on the injured-reserve list because of a foot problem.

Coach Art Shell said the Raiders will wait until the end of the week to determine whether to activate cornerback Garry Lewis, sidelined because of a shoulder injury.

After taking the weekend off, the Raiders resumed practice for Sunday’s game at Kansas City.

“You can tell they’re ready to go back to work,” Shell said. “It was nice to have a couple of days off.”
