Evander Holyfield will defend his newly won heavyweight title against George Foreman for $20 million, Dan Duva, his promoter said today.

Foreman will get $12.5 million.

Duva said no decision has been made on a site or date, but he confirmed that Caesars Palace in Las Vegas has offered a site fee of $10 million to $12 million.

“I’m meeting with the Trump people today,” Duva said.

Bob Arum of Top Rank, who is co-promoting the bout with Duva, told USA Today that the Holyfield-Foreman fight will be held in Las Vegas on April 19.

In London, promoter Frank Warren said the 42-year-old Foreman will have a tune-up fight on Dec. 5 in Britain. He said no opponent had been selected.

Foreman stopped American Terry Anderson in the first round in London last month.

Holyfield captured boxing’s most prestigious title last Thursday in Las Vegas by knocking out James (Buster) Douglas in the third round of their bout at the Mirage Hotel.

Douglas was heavily criticized for coming into the fight overweight and out of shape for the first defense of his title since he knocked out Mike Tyson in Tokyo.
