COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Loyola Sets Deadly Trapp for Titans in Volleyball
Stacy Trapp had 14 kills to lead Loyola Marymount to a four-game victory over Cal State Fullerton in a nonconference women’s volleyball match Tuesday at Loyola Marymount.
Loyola Marymount, which improved to 15-12, won, 15-3, 6-15, 15-2, 15-4.
Becky Howlett had 17 kills for Cal State Fullerton (6-23) and had one assist-block, giving her 85 for the season, the second highest ever for the Titans. Freshman Michelle Paul set the record with 94 earlier this year before missing the last two matches because of illness.
In Big West Conference women’s volleyball:
UC Santa Barbara 3, UC Irvine 0--Julie Pitois had 20 kills to lead eighth-ranked UC Santa Barbara (23-4, 10-3 in conference) to a 15-1, 15-12, 15-10 victory at Santa Barbara. UC Irvine (7-16, 3-9) was led by Kim Collins’ eight kills.
