Ranked as Top Two, UCLA and Hawaii to Play Saturday

The Cal State Long Beach women’s volleyball team is the defending national champion, but UCLA and Hawaii will be playing the key match during a four-team tournament this weekend at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion.

UCLA (21-1), the nation’s top-ranked team, is playing host to the four-team Big West-Pacific 10 Conference challenge tonight and Saturday night, with matches beginning each night at 5 and 7. The challenge will culminate Saturday night with the matchup between UCLA and No. 2 Hawaii (19-3) in the 7 p.m. game.

No. 13 Long Beach (18-7) took some luster off that match by upsetting Hawaii, 15-5, 10-15, 8-15, 15-7, 15-9, Thursday night.

Tonight’s matches: USC (10-9) vs. Hawaii and UCLA vs. Long Beach. The Trojans and 49ers will open Saturday’s competition.
