THE SIDELINES : Sugar Ray, Wife Settle Divorce

Boxer Sugar Ray Leonard and his wife agreed today to an out-of-court divorce settlement and left the courthouse arm in arm.

“We’re both very satisfied,” Leonard said after they spent more than an hour with their attorneys in a conference room of the Montgomery County Courthouse.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed and the case record was sealed.

“It’s a family matter and we decided not to go into court,” Leonard said.

Juanita Leonard’s attorney, famed palimony lawyer Marvin Mitchelson, said, “This is one of the more pleasant endings I’ve seen in my 34 years (as an attorney),” he said.

“This has not been a very happy moment for either of us, after a painful two or three years,” added Sugar Ray Leonard, 34. “I still love her and she loves me.”

Juanita Leonard, 33, said the boxing champion has a girlfriend. “I’m still looking,” she said.
