A 16-year-old Thousand Oaks girl riding with three friends Tuesday afternoon died instantly when the driver lost control, partially ejecting the girl from the vehicle as it rolled, officials said.

Lisa Aguilar died of head injuries, Lt. Joel Oksner said.

The other teen-agers from Thousand Oaks, Melani Fujita, 16, Rob Cox, 16, and Wade Brush, 14, were treated for minor injuries and released from Los Robles Regional Medical Center, he said.

Melani was driving south on Moorpark Road at Greenridge Street about 2:30 p.m. when she lost control of her compact car. When the car flipped onto the shoulder, it rolled on top of Lisa, who was partially ejected from the vehicle, Oksner said.

Lisa was the only one in the car not wearing a seat belt, he said.

On Tuesday night, several residents of the neighborhood where the accident occurred complained to the Thousand Oaks City Council that the grade of the intersection makes it dangerous.

The council agreed to research the number of accidents reported at the corner and how much it would cost to improve the road.
