Two Latino men burned to death when their shack caught fire at a migrant camp on Lansdale Drive in Del Mar, police said.
The two men were identified as Alfredo Hernandez, 38, and Miguel Castellano, 36, the coroner’s office said. Both men were from Mexico, but hometowns were not known, a deputy coroner said.
The fire started about 11:53 p.m. Tuesday in the shack on a migrant camp located in the brush about 100 yards north of Lansdale Drive, less than a mile from Del Mar Heights Road, police said. A burning candle that tipped over may be responsible, they said.
