Peoples Shoots a 63 to Lead Crenshaw by One at Kapalua
David Peoples, who has not won in nine years on the PGA tour, shot an eight-under par 63 Wednesday to take the first-round lead in the Kapalua International golf tournament on Maui.
Peoples is one shot in front of Ben Crenshaw, who made seven birdie putts but barely missed a hole in one and an eagle, each by about one foot, while shooting 64.
At 65 are Bob Gilder and Jim Gallagher, with Billy Andrade, Bill Glasson and Ted Schulz at 66.
Peoples took the lead with a 25-foot eagle putt on the final hole.
