Los Angeles police today were looking for a mentally disabled woman who disappeared nine days ago after leaving a jobs skills training center in Van Nuys.

Mi Ja Bion, 30, who moved from Korea to North Hollywood last year, has the mental capacity of a 7- to 10-year-old child, Detective Ken McCourt said.

Bion walked away from a workshop in the 7600 block of Gloria Avenue about 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 6, McCourt said. The woman was in a skills training program at the workshop and had left to take a bus to the home she shares with family members. But she did not get on the bus and has not been seen since, he said.

The missing woman is described as 4 feet, 11 inches tall, 110 pounds, with short, curly black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing an identification bracelet, a white-and green-striped jacket, a purple and white sweater and blue jeans.

It is the second time this year Bion has been reported missing, police said. She was missing for three days in January after wandering from her home. She was found in West Hollywood, and detectives believe that she got there on foot.

Bion speaks a little Korean, but no English, McCourt said.
