Robber Shaves Bank for $3,900 in Cash
Call him Mr. Gillette. The FBI probably will.
He robbed a Wells Fargo Bank branch Saturday wearing tissue paper and bandages on his lip and chin, Santa Ana police said, “as though he had cut himself shaving.”
He escaped with $3,900 cash stuffed into his pants and sweat shirt as he ran out the bank at 1701 S. Grand Ave. about 3:40 p.m., Santa Ana Police Lt. Charles Magdalena said.
Witnesses told police the man entered the bank, “patiently” waited in line and, when his turn came, presented a note demanding cash in $100 bills. The teller gave him $20, $10 and $5 bills instead.
Magdalena said the man grabbed his note back and fled with the money. The FBI is investigating.
