The on-again, off-again contract talks between first-round draft pick Terry Mills and the Denver Nuggets are finally close to an agreement, Mills’ agent, Bob Woolf, said.
Woolf said Mills was en route to Denver to take a physical, and that he expected Mills and the Nuggets to agree on a deal today.
The Nuggets traded veteran center Danny Schayes to Milwaukee for the rights to Mills, who was the No. 16 pick in last June’s draft.
Mills then turned down a five-year, $3.3-million offer from the Nuggets in July and signed with a team in a Greek league. He quit the Greek team and returned to the United States, resuming talks with the Nuggets in early October.
The Nuggets then offered him the NBA minimum of $170,000 for one year.
