Santa Claus is coming to town--specifically to the shopping centers. And, he will be running on a tight schedule.

Santa’s journey begins on Friday, when he makes his arrival at Los Cerritos Center. The celebration will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a performance by the Fleet Street Band followed by a musical production, “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” by a cast of elves, reindeer, singers and dancers. There will be face-painting and cookie decorating stations for children. Santa will make a short procession to his chair in Toyland near the center of the enclosed mall, where he will be available for pictures and to hear children’s Christmas gift wishes.

Jolly Old St. Nick will then make his way to the Marketplace, Pacific Coast Highway and Westminster Avenue, Long Beach. He will be in his sleigh in the gazebo in the center courtyard to meet with children from noon to 3 p.m. Friday and return from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every weekend until Christmas.

Santa will leave his reindeer at home and visit Shoreline Village by way of boat. He will dock in front of Parker’s Lighthouse restaurant at noon Dec. 1 and proceed with a troupe of dancers, singers and toy soldiers along the boardwalk greeting children. Santa will be at the carousel from noon to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday until Christmas Eve.
