Paving Over Isn’t Answer

Share

We sympathize with the congestion and safety concerns of the residents of Encino and wish them to find long-term solutions. The paving of the dirt portion of Mulholland is not one of them.

The Encino Traffic Hillside and Safety Group has been informed by the Los Angeles Department of Traffic that opening up new routes for traffic alleviates a situation for a maximum of about two years. Drivers from the West Valley would begin to use these routes, and enhancing Mulholland would stimulate further development in the West Valley and in the Santa Monica Mountains.

To the dismay of residents of other areas, such as those on Roscomare Road, there instantly would be increased traffic on their streets.

Appallingly, misguided homeowners desire extra conduits of traffic from the West Valley to pour onto their streets.

Los Angeles would better serve its existing population by constraining growth and development.
