Ron Reis scored 29 points and Santa Clara ended its eight-game losing streak against Loyola Marymount on Friday night with a 100-93 victory in the opening round of the Maui Invitational.

The Broncos (1-0) advanced to today’s semifinals and will face No. 8 Indiana, which beat Northeastern, 100-78.

Santa Clara beat Loyola at its own game, running whenever the break was there and when it wasn’t, the Broncos went down low to the 7-1, 285-pound Reis, who had four inches and 80 pounds on the biggest of the Lions.
