Report Says Hallman to Coach LSU
Southern Mississippi Coach Curley Hallman will be named to replace Mike Archer as football coach at Louisiana State, a New Orleans newspaper reported.
Hallman, who led the Eagles to an 8-3 record and a berth in the All American Bowl, could be named as early as Tuesday, the Times-Picayune reported. The report said Hallman and LSU Athletic Director Joe Dean apparently agreed to terms over the Thanksgiving weekend.
A replacement for Archer, who resigned Nov. 15 after four years at LSU, will be the team’s 31st.
Hallman is 23-11 in three seasons at Southern Mississippi.
