Metro Rail Cost Overruns
I would like to compliment Stephen Braun on his unbiased article, covering the “Grand Reopening of 7th Street” (Metro, Nov. 20).
As a public affairs officer for the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission (LACTC), I know how the impact of rail construction can disrupt businesses. But I would like to reiterate that since the LACTC took over the Metro Rail project from RTD, it has been our goal to address the concerns of the community--expeditiously and professionally.
We at the commission hope to continue to uphold our track record as each phase of the Metro Rail project is completed. And thanks to the patience and cooperation of the 7th Street merchants, we are off to a good start!
