Tyler Cashman to Attend USC

Wide receiver Tyler Cashman of Los Alamitos High School has made an oral commitment to play football at USC, Los Alamitos Coach John Barnes said.

Cashman, an all-Orange County receiver in 1989, had 81 receptions for 1,080 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. He tied for second on the county’s all-time single-season receptions list with David Sepulveda of Fullerton High School, who had 81 receptions in 1984.

“Tyler said it has been a life-long dream to play at USC,” Barnes said. “USC offered (an athletic scholarship) to him at the beginning of the season. In fact, Coach (Larry) Smith said last spring that there would be a scholarship for Tyler.”
