Crenshaw : Review of Plaza Study

The Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles will review the findings of an $80,000 study to determine ways to revitalize the Santa Barbara Plaza and nearby retail areas on Martin Luther King Jr. and Crenshaw boulevards at a public meeting from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday in the Department of Water and Power building auditorium at 4030 Crenshaw Blvd.

Built in 1955, Santa Barbara Plaza is a mixture of retail stores, social service centers, a church and other facilities. The plaza, located directly east of the newly refurbished Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, has been steadily losing business in part because of community concerns over safety. The study was commissioned to determine ways to revitalize the commercial strip.

Vernon Drive.
