Thatcher’s Resignation

Share

It must be hard for North American readers to comprehend the sudden public demise of Mrs. Thatcher. She strove, after all, to create in Britain a model of the United States, a society where enterprise was rewarded and people had the right to their wealth, rather than have it frittered on caring for the housing or education of the poor. So London now has homeless people, beggars and gangs. And the ill must wait for their treatment or pay.

“To each according to his need,” said the socialists she drove from power. And what is wrong with that?
