Studio Equipment Group Forms Health Care Unit

Matthews Studio Equipment Group, a Burbank company that makes, sells and rents motion picture production gear, said it has formed a subsidiary to produce health care products. The subsidiary, Matthews Medical Equipment Inc., will have as its first product a portable stand for intravenous bottles and equipment, similar to the stands the company already makes for motion picture lights. Matthews said it has other products in development.
