Deputy Kills Dog of Homeless Man

Share

While walking for exercise, I turned two unleashed German shepherds around by merely cracking a sawed-off broom handle the size of a police billy-club on the concrete. Police dogs trained to subdue suspects are, presumably, categorized as non-lethal weapons, yet a pet charging a cop must be killed.

I am always galled by police excuses for killing suspects wielding kitchen knives, chairs--even lunging at them, unarmed. Police firepower should be limited to suspects threatening with weapons capable of firing lethal projectiles. If cops continue this paramilitary use of weapons on private citizens, then disarm those involved. In my opinion, Sheriff’s Deputy Craig Flick is a coward and I do not want cowards protecting my interests.
