OJAI : Residents to Work on Land-Use Plan

Share

County Supervisors Susan K. Lacey and Maggie Erickson have appointed eight residents to help revise a land-use plan covering 6,000 parcels in Ojai Valley. The Ojai City Council will appoint a ninth member to represent the city on the advisory committee.

The panel will begin meeting early next year to develop community goals, land-use policies, possible zone changes and other blueprints to guide development into the next century.

“We’ll focus on the characteristics that make Ojai unique and ways to keep them,” said Lisa Woodburn, county planner and project manager.

The Board of Supervisors is scheduled to adopt the revised Ojai Valley Area Plan by mid-1992, Woodburn said.

Lacey has appointed the five members of the Ventura River Valley Municipal Advisory Council to fill five committee seats. Lacey also appointed attorney William M. Slaughter to represent the Upper Ojai Valley.

Erickson, whose supervisorial district includes Ojai and land east of the city, has appointed citrus ranchers Tony Thacher and Tom Munzig to represent the valley’s east end.
