Vital Sign Faces Nine Tonight in $334,000 Ed Burke Futurity
The outstanding 2-year-old colt Vital Sign, a winner of over $205,000 in his young career, takes on nine rivals tonight in the $334,000 Ed Burke Futurity at Los Alamitos.
Vital Sign, trained by Lee Roy Heidleberg, comes into the Ed Burke Futurity after a very close second place finish in the $140,000 Breeders Juvenile Classic on Nov. 17 at Los Alamitos. Vital Sign followed that effort with an impressive victory in his Ed Burke trial when he scored a three-quarter length win in a time of 17.74 seconds.
Vital Sign, who will be ridden by Steve Treasure, will start from the inside post tonight. His challengers include A One Man Band, Good Barry, BF First Lien, Reeds Signature, Shawnes Diamond, Dash For Time, Dashes Dish, Tolls Touch and Jacks Dash.
