One person was killed and three others were injured Sunday morning when their van veered off California 126 near Val Verde and rolled nearly 200 feet down an embankment, authorities said.

The driver of the van, a 27-year-old Panorama City man, was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving and vehicular manslaughter, California Highway Patrol Officer N. Vite said.

Vite said the van was traveling east on California 126 five miles west of the Golden State Freeway about 4:20 a.m. when the driver lost control. Three of the four occupants were thrown from the van.
