The Orange County Fair Board last week approved its 1991 budget and voted to spend $6.5 million in reserve funds for a multipurpose building.
The new structure will be near the Arlington Theater on North West Street, inside the fairgrounds complex in Costa Mesa.
Operating revenues for 1991 are expected to total more than $14.3 million, a 1% increase over 1990. Operating expenses for the upcoming season were estimated at $12.2 million, a 3% increase from the previous year. It is expected that operating net income for 1990 will total more than $2.1 million.
The new budget includes plans to spend 12% more on fair attractions, 13% more on exhibits, 12% more on administrative expenses and 37% less on equipment than 1990.
