2nd Hearing Set Dec. 20 on Redevelopment Plans
A second public hearing on two plans dealing with chronic traffic problems in Hollywood and the revitalization of Hollywood Boulevard is scheduled for Dec. 20 before the Community Redevelopment Agency’s Board of Commissioners. It will be at 9 a.m. at 354 S. Spring St.
During the first hearing Dec. 6, so many people wanted to speak that a second meeting had to be scheduled.
Some at the meeting criticized the plan for not going far enough to mitigate the increased traffic that will come with the $922-million redevelopment project, while others were supportive of the overall thrust of the draft documents.
Several merchants criticized plans to make some streets one-way, saying it will hurt businesses by discouraging motorists from entering the area.
