THOUSAND OAKS : Free Bus Rides OKd During Holidays
Bus riders in Thousand Oaks will be able to hop on a city bus without paying under a City Council decision to provide free rides during the holidays.
Thousand Oaks Transit buses will be free until the end of the month, said John Clement, city public works director. Passengers normally pay 75 cents.
The council decided Tuesday to add bus service on weekends from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Daily bus service was extended 2 1/2 hours to 9 p.m., except for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. No buses will run Christmas or New Year’s Day.
