A 19-year-old Camarillo woman missed a curve on the Pacific Coast Highway south of Point Mugu Rock early Thursday and plunged 30 feet to her death, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Stacey L. Hust was ejected from her car and killed on impact, suffering massive head and internal injuries, Deputy Coroner Craig Stevens said. Officials are investigating her death as both a traffic accident and a possible suicide, he said.

A fisherman found the body floating in the water about 8:20 a.m., said CHP Officer T.J. McAllister.

Hust was traveling south on the highway between 5 and 8 a.m. For unknown reasons she failed to negotiate the curve south of Point Mugu Rock. As the car fell onto the rocks near the shore, the woman was thrown from the car, McAllister said.
