VENTURA : Message Board for Auto Dealers Denied
- Share via
A request to install an electronic message board alongside the freeway to attract customers to the Ventura Auto Center was denied Tuesday by the Ventura Planning Commission.
Rasmussen & Associates, architects for the nine-member auto center, had proposed making an existing 55-foot concrete sign 10 feet taller to accommodate an 8-by-16-foot message board. The sign would flash car advertisements and list civic events.
Commission members voted against the proposal because the city’s sign ordinance prohibits message boards.
