Four time trials to the richest race of the Horsemen’s Quarter Horse Racing Assn. meeting, the $500,000-estimated Golden State Futurity, highlight racing action at Los Alamitos on Wednesday night. The time trials have been designated as the sixth through ninth races on the 11-race program that begins at 7:25 p.m.

Thirty-seven 2-year-olds will run in the 400-yard trials in an effort to qualify for the finals on Dec. 29.

Heading the list of entrants is Jack’s Dash, winner of the Grade I Ed Burke Memorial Futurity at Los Alamitos on Dec. 8. The Rodney Hart-trained son of Dash for Cash boosted his earnings by $150,300 by garnering the winner’s share of the $334,000 Ed Burke with a dominating 1 3/4-length victory.

The Texas-bred earner of $248,304 will run in the seventh race with jockey Henry Garcia getting the mount. Jack’s Dash has drawn the No. 7 post in the nine-horse heat.

The first trial division, the sixth race on the card, is headed by Kid O Dash, which narrowly missed qualifying for the Ed Burke in his time trial on Nov. 28. The Connie Hall trainee was second to Reed’s Signature by a neck in a time of 17.85 seconds, which kept him out of the Ed Burke by 3/100ths of a second.

The eighth race features Dash for Time, Vital Sign, Shawnees Diamond and Blisterin. The first three qualified for the Burke final.
