MOORPARK : Eloise Brown to Run Again for Council
Former Moorpark Councilwoman Eloise Brown said Wednesday she intends to run for an open seat on the City Council in a special election in March.
Brown, who was defeated in her bid for reelection last month, said she obtained nomination papers Monday to run for the empty seat. The position was left vacant when Councilman Paul W. Lawrason Jr. was elected mayor Nov. 6. Lawrason’s council term expires in November, 1992.
Others running are Cheryl Zemont and John Roberts, both former parks and recreation commissioners; Roy Talley Jr., Planning Commission chairman; and political newcomer Paul Childers.
The deadline for filing for the council race is 5 p.m. Dec. 28 at City Hall.
