Fairfax : Neighborhood Discussion
The Jewish Historical Society will devote its annual meeting on Jan. 27 to a discussion of 60 years of Jewish life in the Fairfax neighborhood.
Speakers are to include Gene Holt, former owner of the now-defunct Leader’s Barber Shop, long a local landmark; Rabbi Rubin Huttler, spiritual leader of one of the oldest synagogues on Beverly Boulevard, and and City Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky, who represents the area.
The 2:30 p.m. meeting is to be held at the Jewish Federation Council building, 6505 Wilshire Blvd. Admission is free for members and $5 for non-members. Reservations may be made by calling 653-7740.
