Karpov Calls Timeout in World Chess Tourney

LYON, France —
Anatoly Karpov used his last timeout Saturday to postpone the 22nd game of the world chess championship with Gary Kasparov until Monday.
Kasparov, the reigning champion, is on the verge of retaining his title. He leads 11 1/2-9 1/2 and needs only a draw to clinch a 12-12 tie.
