Germany Will Test for Doping
German Track and Field Federation officials announced that top athletes will begin twice-monthly dope testing starting next month.
The announcement, made after a meeting of top track and field officials Saturday, came after recent allegations that many German athletes, particularly those from East Germany, routinely used performance-enhancing drugs.
According to the Track and Field Federation, testing for use of performance-enhancing drugs is to be carried out on “all A-level track and field athletes every 14 days” starting in January.
