These guardians of community charm, irritated beyond human tolerance by the sloth of the homeowners, have already sought an estimate for demolition. They would return the property to its original, charming, unimproved condition.
All these agencies, burdened with the responsibility of the well-being of the community, would be aghast at the demolition contractor’s response to his commission. George Perez, with little concern for the sensibilities of Palos Verdes Estates board members, passed on the job. “No matter how much they pay me, I don’t want to be involved in that kind of thing,” he said.
