Former NBA players Wayne Engelstad and Terry Dozier have signed contracts with Australian teams for the 1991 season. Engelstad, who played at UC Irvine and later for the Denver Nuggets, signed with the Hobart Devils. Dozier, who played at South Carolina and with the Charlotte Hornets, signed with the Geelong Cats. The Sydney Kings also announced the signing of former San Jose State University player Kenne Young.
