Guard Kevin Gaughen of Pacifica High School and forward Mark Perry of Garden Grove had big scoring games Friday night in Garden Grove League victories.
Gaughen scored a school-record 41 points in an 80-65 victory over La Quinta. Perry scored 40 points in an 84-59 victory over Santiago.
Gaughen scored all of his points in three quarters to pace host Pacifica (5-5, 1-1). Gaughen was 17 of 21 from the floor, including six three-pointers. The previous mark of 40 points was set by Dustin Bonham in 1988. La Quinta (3-8, 0-2) was led by Lloyd Bennett with 23 points.
Bolsa Grande 62, Los Amigos 53--Sy Sayarath scored 29 points, including four three-point baskets, to lead host Bolsa Grande (4-6, 2-0) over Los Amigos (2-9, 0-2).
Kennedy 80, Rancho Alamitos 61--Jermaine Galloway scored 19 points and had 16 rebounds for visiting Kennedy (5-7, 2-0). Morgan Murakami had 13 points for Kennedy.
