Short Takes : O’Neal, Farrah Fell in Major Way

Actor Ryan O’Neal says his love affair with Farrah Fawcett began when she was still married to actor Lee Majors, who in fact helped set it in motion.

O’Neal told TV Guide that Majors asked him to take his wife out while he was making a movie in Canada. The marriage was already on the rocks and the date was the beginning of a love match that is now 10 years old.

At the end of their first date, “We sat and kissed and kissed until our lips were bloody. I could have gone on kissing her for a year,” O’Neal said.

Things got more serious the next night.

“It was unbelievable. She has such a body--that tiny waist, those muscles. I said, ‘My God, I feel like I’m in bed with Olga Korbut.’ ”
