An elderly woman was injured and hospitalized with burns when a fire broke out Tuesday night at a North Hollywood retirement home.

The fire started about 11:15 p.m. at the Villa Magnolia Retirement Hotel, 10537 Magnolia Blvd., and was put out in about 13 minutes, according to a Fire Department spokesman.

About 30 firefighters from six units were sent to the scene.

Fire damage was limited to one room, but water damage caused by sprinklers was widespread, the Fire Department spokesman said.
