The man facing trial for the alleged brutal beating of a fan at a Los Angeles Raiders football game was arrested again, this time for alleged drunken driving.

Shane Geringer, 20, who is free on $30,000 bail in the assault case, was booked for investigation of drunk driving after a sheriff’s deputy stopped his car Saturday on Las Virgenes Road in Calabasas, said Deputy Sue Cross. Geringer, whose blood-alcohol level was 0.14, nearly twice the legal 0.08, was cited and released, Cross said. No court date was set.

Geringer, a former Agoura High School football player, was charged with assault after the beating of a Pittsburgh Steelers fan Sept. 23 during a Raiders-Steelers game at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Paul Albrech, 35, of Tucson, Ariz., was hospitalized for more than a week with a head injury after the attack.
