Tettleton Goes to Tigers for Jeff Robinson
The Detroit Tigers acquired catcher Mickey Tettleton from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for pitcher Jeff Robinson.
Tettleton, 30, who hit 26 home runs and was named to the American League All-Star team in 1989, hit .223 with 15 homers and 51 runs batted in in 135 games last season.
The right-handed Robinson, 29, was 10-9 with a 5.96 earned-run average in 27 starts in 1990. In four seasons with Detroit, he was 36-26 with a 4.65 ERA. His best season was 1988, when he went 13-6 with a 2.98 ERA.
