WESTMINSTER : Illegal-Parking Fine to Increase to $21
The cost of parking illegally on street-sweeping days will go up to $21 on Jan. 23, after the City Council approved the first increase in the fine since 1975.
The increase, from $14, will generate about $100,000 a year for the city, and it will bring the fine up to the average level for surrounding cities. Before the increase, it had been among the lowest in the county for the offense, Police Sgt. Mitch Waller said.
