Pete Rose reported to Heberle Elementary School in Cincinnati to serve as a gym teacher’s aide, part of the 1,000 hours of community service he must perform as part of his sentence for cheating on his federal income taxes. Rose, 49, baseball’s all-time hits leader, will work rotating assignments at Heberle and four other inner-city elementary schools until the end of the school year.
